Swami Vivekanand Subharti University is a University under section 2(f) of the University Grant Commission (U.G.C.) Act, 1956 having been setup under the Swami Vivekanand Subharti Vishwavidhaylaya Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam,2008(U.P.Act No.29 of 2008)as passed by Uttar Pradesh legislature and and assented by the Hon'ble Governer Of Uttar Pradesh in September 2008.

The University has got 14 constituent colleges at present which provides higher education in almost all the disciplines like Medical, Dental, Paramedical, Engineering, Management, Law, Journalism, Education, Art and Sciences thus creating highly qualified,academically and technically excellent professionals.

The University has been establised under the aegis of Subharti K.K.B. Charitable Trust, Meerut,which has acquired a commendable record of service in the field of education,health care,and social welfare.The main campus of the university is in the National Capital Region strategically situated on National Highway-58,Meerut Bypass Road,Meerut.The campus aptly called Subhartipuram,is spread over a sprawling campus of almost 200 acres of land comprising of magnificient building,lush green lawns and an atmosphere vibrant with over 5000 people,determined to make this the jewel in the Crown Of The Nation.

The establishment of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University at Meerut has formed an important land mark in the field of Higher Education in this country and in particular in the State of U.P. This is a creation of a great visionary Dr. Atul Krishna, the founder President of Subharti KKB Charitable Trust, Meerut, a renowned Surgeon & a great Nationalist in the true sense. The University came into existence on 5th September 2008 by UP Act No. 29 of 2008 and letter of Authorisation issued by the U.P. Government on 14th September 2008 and under the present Presidentship.

1. The University has been named after a Great Son of India, Swami Vivekanand, who was born in Calcutta on January 12, 1863. He is considered a key figure in the introduction of Vedant and Yog in Europe and America; and is also credited with raising interfaith awareness, bringing Hinduism to the status of a world religion during the end of the 19th Century. Vivekanand is considered to be a major force in the revival of Hinduism in modern India. He is best known for his inspiring speech beginning with “sisters and brothers of America”, through which he introduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the World’s Religions at Chicago in 1893. Swami Vivekanand is regarded as one of India’s foremost nation-builders. His teachings influenced the thinking of other national leaders and philosophers, like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, Aurobindo Gosh and Radhakrishnan, and less said than realised, the founder of Subharti Dr. Atul.
2. The President of our Trust Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar, a versatile, dynamic and multitalented personality, is a Physician by profession, a blend of head and heart is dedicated to cause of education and is committed to fulfilment of our moto “ ARISE AWKEN & STOP NOT TILL THE GOAL IS ACHIEVED”.
3. Under section 11(i) of the Act the Trust appointed Dr. G.C. Srivastava as Chancellor of this University. Dr. Srivastava {IAS (Retd.)} held important assignments like Chief Secretary, Govt. of Goa; Member Secretary, Twelfth Finance Commission in the Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India; Chairman, Tariff Commission; Vice Chairman, Central Administrative Tribunal; and Secretary, Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The University has completed one year under his able guidance and will certainly attain an excellent international status in near future.
4. Dr. V. B. Sahai is honoured and privileged to be appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor of this University. Before joining as Vice-Chancellor served this organisation as Director SIMS for more than 6 years & served government of UP as Director General Medical Education for about 5 years and Principal and Dean of K.G. Medical College, Lucknow, G.S.V.M. Medical College, Kanpur & S.N. Medical College, Agra.
5. The University is spread over in a large campus of about 250 acres having magnificent buildings and a majstic area of its constituent colleges, residential accommodation for teaching and non-teaching staff and hostels for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Besides a huge Central Library with more than 40000 books and 1200 journals, it has a 750 bedded super-specialities Hospital with all modern medical facilities. All operations and medical care is available to the people at negligible cost, practically free.
6. The University has following constituent colleges:
   • Subharti Dental College:
     It is headed by Dr. N.K. Ahuja. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 100 students in BDS course and 25 in MDS course. The total strength in Dental College is about 600 students. It has strength of 63 dedicated faculty members. IGNOU has designated this college as centre for PG Diploma in Oral Implantology. Its departments of Oral Surgery, Periodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Medicine and Radiology have published 41 papers in International and National journals during September 2008 to September 2009, and few more have been accepted. Dr. Ahuja addressed the Indian Dental Association as a Key Note Speaker at its Annual Congress. He presented a research paper in Annual Conference of American Association of Orthodontist at Boston, USA and is currently president elect of Orthodontic socity of India . The college successfully conducted Eight Continuing Dental Education Programs in which several delegates from different Institutions across the Country participated and had discourse on advancement in the different specialities. The College is also in agreement with Tuft University, Boston for Student Exchange Program. 7 students have already visited to Boston and two are ready to go by end of this month. In Extra-curricular activities, students excelled in the events in Maulana Azad Medical College and virtually swept all prizes in singing, fashion show, debate, rangoli and various indoor and outdoor sports. Overall, the Dental College if this University has been rated as one the best in Country.
   • Subharti Medical College:
     It is headed by Dr. A.K. Asthana. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 100 students in MBBS, 23 in MD and MS courses, 50 in M.Sc. (Medical), 40 in M.Sc. (MIT/MLT) and Ph.D. course. It has got total strength of 625 students and 147 faculty members. The faculty regularly attends and participates in various National and has International conferences and presented more than 100 scientific papers during the year. 100 papers in National Journals and 47 papers in International journals have been published by the teachers of the Medical College during the year. Dr. A.K. Asthana Principal received the Best Educationist award in June 2009 by Indian Solidarity Council of India. He also was invited to deliver a talk on Genetic Disorders in Developments of Human Nervous System at Harvard Medical School USA in June 2009. Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar Professor of Medicine has been decorated as U.P. Ratna in Sept. 2008. She got Mahila Garav Samman in March 2009 & Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani Award on womens day in August 2009 at New Delhi. Dr. Sweta Grover attended a fellowship in Dermatology at Hamburg Medical Institute, Germany and was awarded a Gold Medal. Dr. Poonam Elhance attended a training fellowship in Neuropathology and Surgical Pathology at CMC Vellora and Dr. Vikas Trivedi has been awarded Global Outreach Educational Scholarship Award of Scoliosis Research Society, USA to a name few.
   • Subharti Physiotherapy College:
     It is headed by Dr. R.K. Meena. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having annual intake capacity of 60 students in BPT and 40 in MPT courses. It has got total strength of about 150 students and 12 faculty members. The college has all ultra modern equipment and well qualified & experienced faculty. Dr. Vaibhav Agarwal of this college has presented a research paper in World Confederation for Physical Therapy & in IAP Congress-2009. The Dept. regularly organises workshop on “Manual Therapy in Neck and Head Pain” on 09th March 09.
   • Subharti Nursing College:
     It is headed by major Geeta Parwanda. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 100 students in GNM, 40 in B.Sc. (Nursing), 20 in Post B.Sc. (Nursing) courses. It has got total strength of 330 students and 20 faculty members. The nursing students have taken active participation in Trained Nursing Association Conference 2008 in Mumbai with Poster presentation on ‘Alzheimer Disease’ in Seminar on 'Geriatric Medicine’ in AIIMS, New Delhi.Major Geeta Parvanda the Principal has been nominated for ‘Rashtriya Vidya Saraswati Puruskaar’ in IIEM, N. Delhi. One of its faculty Dr. Preetha has been selected for higher education in Melbourne University, Australia.
   • Subharti Institute of Technology & Engineering:
     It is headed by Dr. Rajiva Dwivedi. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 360 students in B. Tech., 90 in M. Tech. It has got total strength of 1200 students and 57 faculty members. 5 workshops and two National level Technical Fests were organized by the Institute. 4 research papers have been published in International Journals by faculty of Institute. Dr. Rajiv Dwivedi, Principal delivered talk in NTPC, and his one research paper on ‘Satellite Communication’ has been accepted for oral presentation at IIT, Roorkee. He has achieved Young Scientist Award by CSIR, Govt. of India and also Career Award for Young Teachers by AICTE, New Delhi.
   • Subharti College of Higher Education:
     It is headed by Dr. Mohan Gupta. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 60 students in MBA, 120 in BBA, 180 in BCA, 60 in B. Lib., 25 in M. Lib., 10 in M. Phil. (Lib. Sc.), 10 in M. Phil. (Edu.), 200 in B.Ed., 50 in B.P. Ed., 50 in B.P.E., 60 in B.H.M., 30 in D.H.M. and 200 in B.A.. It has got total strength of around 1000 students and over two scores of faculty members.
   • Subharti Institute of Law:
     It is headed by Dr. Vaibhav Bharti. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 160 students in B.A.LL.B., 60 in LL.M., 10 in M. Phil. (Law) and 10 in Ph.D. It has got a total strength of about 200 students over a dozen senior 12 faculty members. The teachers of the institute have attended various National & International Conferences hosted by Addis Ababa University, Lucknow University & other colleges. Dr. Vaibhav Bharti delivered a guest lecture at Amrawati University in Aug 2009. He also extended his professional legal consultancy for Ministry of Health, Ethiopia for National Human Rights Commission, and has contributed in curriculum development of Institute of Human Rights Studies in Ethiopia.
   • Subharti College of Journalism & Mass. Comm.:
     It is headed by Mr. R. P. Singh. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 50 students in B.J.M.C., 50 in M.J.M.C., 50 in P.G.D.J.M.C. It has got total strength of about 40 students and 04 faculty members. The main facilities provided by the Institute to students are Interaction with renowned media professionals, online training in Electronic Media, Active Journalism training in Print Media, Reporting Trips, Educational Tours, Workshops & Seminars; under unique infrastructure like production control room, Studio, High Tech Video Editing facilities, Still Photography Lab & News Room Setup. The Principal of the College Mr. Rajendra Prakash Singh, a noted media personality, has worked with leading organizations like Doordarshan, Zee News, MH-1 channels & Times of India.
   • Subharti Institute of Fine Arts & Fashion Design:
     It is being developed by its renowned professionals in the field with ecperienced faculty members having courses in B.F.A., D.F.A. & C.C.A.
   • Subharti College of Pharmacy:
     It offers courses having intake capacity of 40 in B. Pharm. and 40 in D. Pharm. It has got total strength of 40 students and 04 faculty members with Dr. Rajat Varshney as its HOD.
   • Subharti Institute of Security & Intelligence Management:
     It is headed by Brigadier P. P. Toor. It offers courses in PG Diploma for Security Officer, Diploma for Security Manager, Certificate Course for Security Supervisors and Training Program for Security Guards. With these innovative training programmes, the Security Personnel not only handle physical security requirements, but also handle situations that call for intelligence and judgement i.e. in first aid, fire fighting, management, forensic science, evidence etc.
